7th Grade Titans & 8th Grade Rebels overpower Rockville in scrimmage

Top Story

On Thursday night, the 7th grade and 8th Grade teams had a scrimmage with Rockville Middle School. This event was led by Rockville High School Head Coach Mr. Herb King. The format was set up to be much like a High School scrimmage. Before full team scrimmages, there was an opportunity for the linemen to compete against one another, while the skill players ran some 7-on-7 drills.

The linemen for the 7th grade team were led by Tyler Loughmiller, Will Morley ,and Dacoda Dixon. In the 8th grade Brandon Kerschner, Jacob Adams, and Santiago Esparza led the way in the linemen challenge. Rockville was no pushover as lineman Loomis showed why they will compete in every game this year.

When it came time to scrimmage full field, the 8th grade offense led by QB Andrew Morgan, RB Levi Dowden, WR Grant Stockrahm, and the previously mentioned linemen scored four touchdowns. On Defense the Raiders only allowed one touchdown. The group of Miguel Royeca, Josh Morson, Nick Osborn, and Zach Duncan all shined while stopping the Rox offense.

The 7th Grade Titans offense shined for 5 touchdowns behind the play of QB Timmy Fiddler, RB Bailey Merritt, and RB DeSavio Lusk. A couple of touchdowns were 40 yards or longer, showing that this team has the ability to make explosive plays. On Defense for the Titans, they were a composed group led by LB Merritt, FS David Riley, and linemen Will Moorley and Lance Dooley. With Rockville on the three yard line and pressing for a touchdown, the defense did a great job to force a turnover.

Overall the event went very well as this is the final tune up for the Terre Haute Boys & Girls Club teams before they face Batchelor Middle School on Monday 8/26/13 in Bloomington at 6pm.
